From October 25 to 28, as a satellite event of the 33rd Brazilian Congress of Microbiology, would like to thank all those involved who made this congress possible.
The event was organized by the Brazilian Association for Food Protection (BRAFP) and the International Committee for Microbiology and Food Hygiene (ICFMH), with the support of the Brazilian Society of Microbiology (SBM).
The first FoodMicro Latino 2025 in numbers:
▪ 560 registered persons (including speakers);
▪ 277 presented abstracts in poster format;
▪ 46 speakers from Brazil, Belgium, Italy, the United States, France, Denmark and Chile.
▪ Seven main conferences;
▪ Eight round tables, with between 3 and 5 speakers each;
▪ Four courses prior to the congress
▪ A workshop on Brazilian artisanal cheeses;
▪ ICFMH Awards for the best poster presentations made by young food microbiologists;
▪ BRAFP awards for the best oral presentations by young food microbiologists;
▪ support from government agencies CAPES, CNPq, FAPESP and FAPEMIG;
▪ Support from the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine (CFMV);
▪ Financial support from HYGIENA, BIO-RAD, PensaBio and Kikkoman.
The theme of the 1st FoodMicro Latino 2025 was Sustainability and Food Security, leading the topics of scientific activities and the discussion between participants and speakers, which provided a suitable environment for intense discussions and interaction between participants, strengthening the network of international cooperation between researchers and students.
